Day 5 of 40...

Didn't talk to anyone today. Took the kids swimming. Saw a woman nearly drown, made me think about needing to tell people about getting saved. The lady turned out okay.

  1. Wow, I am glad she turned out ok. Reminds me of this kid who was known by everyone as being a lost cause. This kid ran away from home when his parents found out he was doing drugs and refused to listen to them and turn to God. His life was on a never ending downhill slope and seemed that all was lost. Despite the number of times his mother called him trying to bring him home and back to God, he instead decided to file harassment and put his mother in jail. But his mother did not once give up on him and called everyone she knew all over US and Europe to bring him in all church prayers everywhere because the chains of the devil had him bound like no other. About 6 months later this kid wakes up one morning full of sweat, heart racing, in a panic he looks around and think “where am I, what am I doing, all my so called friends are being shot or going to jail”. Out of the blue his mother gets a call from him that morning, he sounded scared out of his mind saying “Mom, I am sorry, I am going to Seattle”. His mother knew what was happening; it was God reclaiming his long lost sheep. After he was in Seattle for a few months he began to understand God’s calling and slowly saw and heard that entire churches were praying for him especially. This kid moved back to Texas with his family few months later and began telling everyone that life is to short and any day could be our last. Telling his story about how lost he was and how the devil had chained and blinded him to the point of no return but God’s good hand ripped apart the chains and pulled him out. His mother welcomed him with open arms even after all he has done. To this day, this kid will always remember how God pulled him from a place that no man could and will never forget how much his mother loved him and did not give up on him. I know this kid well because this kid was me. And I will never forget how powerful prayers are and how powerful and merciful God is.

  2. Thank you for the post. I'm glad that your mother never gave up on you. It is always a blessing when someone's live is put back on track.
