The fire and passion for what you do has got up and went. Well, that is were I find myself. Stuck so to speak out of my own poor choices. Well, starting this week I have decided to turn over a new leaf so to speak and make some changes; to look out for number one, selfish as that seems. But until I am whole again I can't be whole to others. So hang with me as we take this adventure together.
Randy's Rambles'http://www.blogger.com/profile/08236688322446115593noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2452158726629053333.post-248267246631939802016-04-04T12:45:00.002-07:002016-04-04T12:45:38.841-07:00Another 3 years since I posted. It is crazy how fast time flies. Well, with the help of my inner self I hope to push out some more encouraging and challenging commentaries. Randy's Rambles'http://www.blogger.com/profile/08236688322446115593noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2452158726629053333.post-85730691135360327202010-05-23T21:13:00.000-07:002010-05-23T21:13:58.920-07:00Last day...Well, folks I got so busy I forgot to conclude my 40 strangers in 40 days postings. So this is to conclude this group of postings. I hope that is was a time of outreach for you as it was for me. Though I didn't see anyone saved I did sow seeds that I pray will reap rewards.

In conclusion we are drawn to these passages:

Acts 1:9-11.
9. And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld , he was taken up ; and a cloud received him out of their sight.
10. And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up , behold , two men stood by them in white apparel;
11. Which also said , Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.

This is our glorious hope that Jesus will come again. That we will meet him in the air and forever we will be with the Lord.

1 Thes 4:16-18:
16. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
17.Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. 18.Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

This should keep us all smiling. And is the next in my series of posts...Are you ready?Randy's Rambles'http://www.blogger.com/profile/08236688322446115593noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2452158726629053333.post-16963290743714995652010-05-06T20:41:00.001-07:002010-05-06T20:41:13.248-07:00Day 31 of 40...Well, folks as I said before the clock is ticking down. Not a fun thing to have. Takin' my meds and stayin' in bed for the next day or so. Pray for me that I recover soon. And keep living for Jesus.Randy's Rambles'http://www.blogger.com/profile/08236688322446115593noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2452158726629053333.post-50647950705814425872010-04-15T00:14:00.000-07:002010-04-15T00:14:47.422-07:00Day 8 of 40...Had an opportunity to discuss my faith with a friend. It was a good talk. I've posted a section from our conversation below.

<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif; font-size: small;">As you know I've never push what I believe on you or anyone I've talked with. It is a personal choice people have to make. I don't like it when someone tries to push what they believe on anyone. It just gives we Christians a bad name. That said, one side or the other is going to be right in the end. For me it works out like this. After getting saved I haven't had to give up much in the way of living my life. I do have a different out look on certain things, but all-in-all I live and let live and I am having a great time. I don't feel I've lost out on anything in my life because of my decision and in the end I have an eternal home in Heaven. And if I'm wrong, I just don't have Heaven in the end, but I did have a really good life. On the other hand, if I am right, those who choose not to believe have this life and what they can get from it and for the most part it will be good. But, their end is an eternity in Hell. Yeah I know, Hell is an offensive word, but it does exist just as much as Heaven. You can't have one without the other. That said, people are free to chose what path they want. Even God left that choice up to Adam and Eve. They ended up not choosing wisely, but God didn't jump down from Heaven and hammer them for their mistake. Instead, he made provisions for their mistake (sin) by sending Christ to make it right. Growing up my outlook on Christians was not good. I saw them as hypocrites and judgmental. If you look at the older posts on my blog you can see some of the things about that (<a href="http://ramblinrandy.blogspot.com/" onmousedown="UntrustedLink.bootstrap($(this),
"7676dcc3d5500b33f49af21897f50aa2", event)" rel="nofollow" style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;" target="_blank">http://ramblinrandy.blogspot.com). All I know is, on January 15, 1991 my life was changed and has never been the same. I was blind and now I see. I only tell you all this because you are a friend and I don't want you to miss out on what I have come to know. Too often people get the wrong impression of what being a Christian is all about (because of some within the faith that feel it is their duty to rub your nose in it so to speak). It isn't a bunch of rules, "don't do this and don't do that", but a personal relationship with our Creator and that is it. Accepting his gift (payment) for our mistakes (sins) is all there is to it. God wants nothing more from us than a relationship. The same as we desire from those around us. As I said earlier, "too many zealous Christians have marred this simplicity with their own warped values". If God took this same approach we'd all be fried by lightning :). But, alas, He is merciful and long suffering and cares for us in ways we can't begin to understand. Well, I have run on long enough and don't want to sound like I'm preaching at you. Talk at you later.

I hope this was a blessing to you as you talk with folks about Jesus.Randy's Rambles'http://www.blogger.com/profile/08236688322446115593noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2452158726629053333.post-73175120156759972010-04-13T15:14:00.000-07:002010-04-13T15:14:20.817-07:00Day 7 of 40...Nothing much to report other than this passage of scripture. Not much to report. Once again I need be more mindful of others. I do need to get with Pastor and get some tracts to hand out. It would be nice to have something to hand them in case they don't have the time right then and there to talk. At least they could later read the tract and get directions to the church. Pastor.....?Randy's Rambles'http://www.blogger.com/profile/08236688322446115593noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2452158726629053333.post-90858256755394556522010-04-07T00:04:00.000-07:002010-04-07T00:04:34.634-07:00Day 2 of 40...Well, it is day 2 of 40. How did your search for lost souls go today? I must confess I didn't strike up a conversation with anyone I saw at the mall. Sad part is I didn't really think of it until I got home, I was too involved in spending time with my daughters.

That is a sad commentary on my part. I know Jesus said we are to love him more than anything else in the world, but alas we are frail in our human condition and fall short of that all too often. May we, I, be more conscience of those around us as we go about our day.

Brandon Heath says it best in his song, "Give Me Your Eyes "
Oh, that we would take this song to heart.
How did you do in your challenge. I must confess I didn't get to interact with any strangers today, but I do need gas tomorrow so look out attendants. Well, we must not give up just because we missed a day.Randy's Rambles'http://www.blogger.com/profile/08236688322446115593noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2452158726629053333.post-85773185822286489012010-04-04T17:21:00.000-07:002010-04-04T17:21:02.426-07:00Forty Strangers in Forty DaysNow that Easter is over most Christians will go back to their usual lives and think this is it until Christmas. Well my friends I have to say that it should not be business as usual, but we should do as Jesus commanded us before he was taken up. That is to be a witness of Him. Did you know that Jesus didn't immediately go to Heaven, but hung out with his Disciples for 40 days.

Starting Monday I challenge each of you to get out of your comfort zone and speak to one stranger per day for next 40 days. They have to be someone you've never spoken to about Jesus. It can be as simple as handing them an invitation to church or really getting out of your comfort zone and tell them how they can have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. How he died for their sins and that they can be free from the bondage of sin and live a new life in Him.

So folks, the gauntlet has been laid down before you, by me, but most of all by Jesus, who commanded us to be a witness for him. Will you take the challenge? Will you show Jesus to someone in the next 40 days? If you do, please share your stories on this blog or Facebook so others can be encouraged to do the same. Randy's Rambles'http://www.blogger.com/profile/08236688322446115593noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2452158726629053333.post-80215083432758026852010-01-18T01:33:00.000-08:002010-01-18T01:33:10.783-08:00Twenty Seconds to Eternity...Watching the news unfold of the historic earthquake in Haiti, I am reminded of how quickly our time here on earth can come to an end. In less that 20 seconds the lives of tens of thousands of people were simply erased off the face of the earth. They had no time to contemplate their fates or to give any thought to whether or not there even is an eternity. They were simply gone. Which brings me to the point of this post. How is it with you? Are you ready for that day when you too will be ushered into eternity? Will you be ready? The truth is you don't know when that time will be, no more than the people in Haiti. One minute you are sitting there sipping your coffee, or reading the paper waiting for the bus, or dropping your kids off at school, or standing in line at the grocery store to purchase some milk. Then suddenly without warning, a flash of light and you are standing in the presence of your Creator. No more time to decide what you believe or not, at this point it is too late. You see the Bible is very clear, if you haven't made up your mind to accept Christ's offer of salvation prior to departing this earth then you are condemned (John 3:16 - 18). All that is left is for God to carry out your sentencing. For the wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23) and an eternity in a place called Hell.

So my friend, if you haven't stopped what you are doing and gotten this one question answered about your eternity you need to do it now. Have you accepted Christ's forgiveness for your sins and placed your trust in Him as your only means to Heaven? If not, you need to do so now because in twenty seconds it could be too late...the clock is ticking. Don't wait until it's too late.Randy's Rambles'http://www.blogger.com/profile/08236688322446115593noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2452158726629053333.post-89816302294978608692009-10-18T00:38:00.000-07:002009-10-18T00:38:56.269-07:00Prophecy #1...Israel as a nation is born. One need only look through their history books to find that there was not a nation called Israel before May 14th, 1948. On that historic day God gathered his people to a parched strip of land now known by all as Israel. It cannot be denyed that they are a people and a nation. As God proclaimed in his word this would happen (Ezekiel 37:21, Ezekiel 36:1, 8, 24, Isaiah 11:12). How has the world reacted to this? With threats of violence from Islamic nations, distain from the European community and loathing from the communist countries of the world. None the less God did fulfill his word to the Jews that they would in the last days be gathered from the four corners of the world and made a great nation and they would be the center of attention on a global stage.

Prior to their taking control of the area now called Israel the land was desolate and no one cared about it. Now that it is a thriving place of commerce and industry the Islamic nations wish to destroy her. This too is prophesied in the Bible that in the last days nations would gather together against her to take a spoil (Zechariah 14:1-2, Joel 3:1-2, Ezekiel 38:13). I could go on for some time showing you passages of scripture, but there are those that have written extensive studies on this subject so I will link you to their information instead.

Please take the time to read their information and take heed to it. There is coming a day when God will stop striving with mankind and judgement will come. The question is, "Will you be ready for it". I pray you take the time to call on Jesus and ask for his forgiveness that you are ready when the final trumpet sounds.

My friends, seriously the time is short. The clock started ticking at the cross and has been accelerated as of 1948. The bible says the generation that saw this happen will see the coming of Christ. That is us. Take heed and learn while there is still time.Randy's Rambles'http://www.blogger.com/profile/08236688322446115593noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2452158726629053333.post-38018265584890204812009-10-13T22:15:00.000-07:002009-10-13T23:12:32.963-07:00The time has come...
Okay my friends it is high time I take off the gloves and really speak to the coming events unfolding before us. I have one desire and that is to show all those I come in contact with how they can be saved. You say from, "What"? The Bible says from sin. But let us not get ahead of ourselves. In my previous posts I told you a couple of stories, one of my testimony the other of a fellow service member who gave his life to Christ. Truth is there have been so many things happen like this since I have been saved it would take a lifetime to tell them all, therefore, I want to get to the heart of the matter. The question that started this whole blog, "What would it take.."?

What would it take for you to believe that the contents of the Bible is true and has been proven time and time again and will continue to be so. Would physical evidents help? Would archaeological events prevail? Seriously, what would do it for you? Would current events predicted in the Bible do it? I don't ask lightly as I am truly burdened for your souls and where you will spend eternity. Eternity, that's a lofty word. Do you actually grasp how long eternity is? I describe it like this, "Eternity - Picture the Earth and Moon as they are suspended in space and between them a large metal ball about the size of a basketball. Now picture all the grains of sand on a glistening white tropical beach. Imagine a small hummingbird picking up a grain of sand from that beach and flying up into the heavens to deposit this grain of sand upon the moon. As the hummingbird passes the steel ball he brushes the downy part of his feathers against the ball touching it ever so gently. He deposits the sand on the moon and returns to Earth for another grain of sand once again touches the steel ball with the downy part of his wings. The hummingbird does this until the steel ball is all but a faint glimmer in the heavens and fades away. In the time it took for this to happen eternity hasn't even started." That is how I define eternity. You my friend are facing an eternity somewhere, be it Heaven or Hell. There are no other destinations. Just as God created the physical laws of our universe such as action and reaction, light and dark, what goes up must come down, so He has created a Heaven and a Hell.

With that said, I press on with my answers to your unasked question, "What would it take..."?

Let us start with current events. The Bible predicted several events would take place signifying the end of times where near. They include, but are not limited to the following:

1. Israel would become a nation.
2. The earth would increase in seismic, atmospheric and heavenly activity.
3. Nations would rise against nations.
4. Famine.
5. Pestilences.
6. World powers would unite in a common cause.
7. People would worship the creation of God more than God himself.
8. Children would become disobedient and lawless. Killing their own parents and despising authority.
9. Nations would gather against Israel to take her as prey.
10. Evil would be called good and good would be called evil.
11. The faith of many would wax cold.
12. The Church of Christ would be persecuted.
13. Wars and rumors of wars.
14. Economic failures leading to a world financial system.
15. Men's hearts failing them for fear.

As I said these are but a handful of the prophecies of the Bible that I hope to unfold for you that you might see the truth contained therein and give your life to Christ before the clock stops ticking. As you see God will not always strive with men (Gen 6:3). There is coming a judgement day. Let he who has eyes see and let he who has ears hear. You will have to tune in for the first installment of this study into current events. Don't let time run out on you.
